THE CANDLE PEOPLE

Jacqueline Puchtler was born in Northamptonshire.  She travelled alone to California in her late teens where she wrote articles and short stories for the High Desert Life magazine.  While there she developed a fascination for Native American culture and shamanism.  She married a German instructor pilot and had two sons, later living in Germany where she taught English and aerobics for a Volkshochschule.  She has a first-class degree in History of Art and Art.  She now lives in England and works as a librarian for a large state school in Buckinghamshire.  She paints and writes, enjoying in particular the disruption that magical realism can bring to a narrative.
